Thinking Errors

Self Centered
You think that your opinions and feelings are more important than those of other people are. You may not even consider how someone else is feeling. You think about what you want right now and not think about how your behaviours will affect you or others in the future.

Minimizing/Mislabelling
You think your problems or behaviours are not as bad or wrong as they really are. You put a label on your wrong or harmful behaviour to try to make it OK or good.  You may even call other people bad names so it will seem Ok to hurt them.

Assuming the worst
You think that only bad things can happen to you and that you cannot do anything about what happens. It also means that you think you or other people will not be able to change or make improvements. It can also mean you think others are always selfish or out to get you or someone else.

Blaming others
You do not take responsibility for your own behaviour. Instead, you blame other people for your harmful behaviour when it is really your fault. It can also mean you think that your bad behaviours are OK because you were high on drugs or in a bad mood, or because you were once the victim of discrimination or abuse.
